(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, MARCH 22 - The grand jury investigating Donald Trump's role in the illegal payment to buy the silence of the porn star who threatened to reveal their affair will not meet today: writes the New York Times quoting two people familiar with the dossier .
A circumstance which, according to the newspaper, suggests that any indictment against the former president could arrive as soon as possible tomorrow.
The grand jury meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and may hear at least one other witness before being called to vote, according to the NYT.
Since the proceedings are being held in secrecy, it is unclear whether other witnesses may also appear.
It's also unclear why the grand jury didn't meet today, but the jury isn't required to meet on all three days of the week, and scheduling conflicts and other disruptions are not unusual.
