Employees of the Russian presidential administration have received an order to replace their iPhones with smartphones of other brands and with a different operating system by the end of March: writes the Kommersant newspaper, according to which the order came at the beginning of the month.
According to the newspaper, the initiative is linked to security concerns as the Kremlin believes that iPhones are more susceptible to hacker attacks and espionage by the West than other smartphones.
A newspaper source familiar with the decision said the presidential administration could also buy new secure cell phones for its employees to make it easier for them to abandon American technology.
