(ANSA) - TOKYO, MARCH 22 - The Tokyo Stock Exchange starts the session sharply higher, after yesterday's national holiday, with investors awaiting the decision on rates by the US Federal Reserve, and further reassurances on the solidity of the banking system.
At the opening, the Nikkei reference index advanced by 1.31%, to 27,299.419, with a gain of 353 points.
On the currency front, the yen is stable against the dollar, at a value of 132.40, and against the euro at 142.60.
