The calendar

Unlike what happens in the regions with ordinary statute, in Friuli-Venezia Giulia the administrative elections will be merged with the regional elections and votes will be held on Sunday 2 and Monday 3 April, with possible run-offs on Sunday 16 and Monday 17 April.

Furthermore, in the Sicilian region, votes will be held on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 May 2023, while any run-offs will take place on Sunday 11 and Monday 12 June.

The municipalities of Trentino-Alto Adige will go to the vote on Sunday 21 May and the municipality of Valtournenche, in Valle d'Aosta, on Sunday 21 May, with a second round of ballots on Sunday 4 June.

In the regions with ordinary statute, 598 municipalities will be called to vote, of which the vast majority (463) have between three thousand and ten thousand inhabitants.

The municipalities with the highest number of inhabitants to vote will be only 13 and have a population between 100,001 and 250,000 inhabitants.

In the regions with special statutes, the polls will open in 193 municipalities, of which: 1 in Valle d'Aosta, 24 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 2 in the Autonomous Province of Trento, 2 in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, 128 in Sicily and 37 in Sardinia .

The handbook of the Anci

The Association of Municipalities has created a timetable of the fulfillment of the electoral procedure, also providing an overview of the most recent regulations on the subject, with opinions from the Ministry of the Interior and with the most recent jurisprudence.

It is therefore, it is underlined, "an operational tool for orienting oneself, for example, on the number of signatures necessary for the presentation of the lists and the acts that can be adopted after the announcement of the electoral rallies".

The picture is completed by a synoptic table of the provisions on electoral operations, institutional communication and propaganda.
