Ed Sheeran's new album, out May 5, is a distillation of what the singer has been through over the past year. A difficult year. He confided in Rolling Stone.

Ed Sheeran is (already) preparing a posthumous album.

After completing his cycle of five albums titled after mathematical symbols, the singer has launched a new challenge.

Or rather five, since he plans, according to his remarks in Rolling Stone

magazine,

to produce

“five new albums, based on another series of symbols, still secret”

.

And the last part of this project will not come out during his lifetime.

The goal ?

"Being able to add songs here and there to make it a more or less perfect album

," says Ed Sheeran.

And I will mention in my will that it should appear after my death.”

Recently, the artist has faced several dramas in his personal life.

The loss of two of his friends, Jamal Edwards and Shane Warne, all of whom died of heart attacks, and the diagnosis of a tumor in his wife took a toll on his mental health.

“I didn't want to live anymore

, he always confides to

Rolling Stone

.

I've always had ups and downs in my life, but it wasn't until the last year that I tackled them."

For the first time, the singer went to therapy.

“No one really talks about those feelings where I come from.

People think it's weird seeing a therapist in England

,” he continues.

He finally managed to recover and is about to release, in collaboration with Aaron Dessner (

The National

), a new album,

Subtract

, on May 5th.

The American magazine confirms that the singer has also

"completed another upcoming album with the producer"

.

For the future, Ed Sheeran still has many projects, including several collaborations, in particular with Shakira, Justin Bieber, J Balvin, David Guetta or even Pharrell Williams.
