A mega public transport strike that will paralyze the country.

This is what the EVG and Verdi unions announced in Berlin, proclaiming the mobilization of sector employees for next Monday, March 27th.

The strike will affect long-distance rail transport such as regional ones, urban transport, but also airports and the motorway company, according to what has been announced.

What has been announced is an almost unprecedented mobilization in Germany: in fact, a similar case dates back to about thirty years ago, when in the spring of 1992 a major strike led hundreds of thousands of employees in the sector to take time off work, in several stages and for several weeks .

The strike, called for an entire day, will begin at midnight on the 26th and end exactly 24 hours later, the trade unionists explained in a meeting with the press.

With this action Verdi wants to increase the pressure on the third round of negotiations starting on Monday between the State and the Municipalities.

The union is asking for a salary increase in public transport of 10.5% and at least 500 euros more in payroll.

The acronym Evg, which represents the rail traffic sector, is instead asking for an increase of at least 650 euros.

The mobilization will touch railways,

airports, but also the administration of naval transport.

Urban traffic will be affected in seven Laender.
