(ANSA) - NEW DELHI, MARCH 23 - A Gujarat court today declared Rahul Gandhi guilty of defamation of Prime Minister Modi, and sentenced him to two years in prison.
At a rally during the 2019 election campaign in the Premier's home state, the opposition leader had rhetorically asked "why all thieves have lost their nickname Modi?".
Gandhi has obtained bail and through his lawyer he has made it known that he will present an appeal against the sentence (ANSA).
