In 2022, 8,058,560 employment contracts were activated while 7,617,318 terminated with a positive balance of 441,242 units: this can be read in the INPS Observatory on precariousness according to which a net positive change was recorded above all for permanent contracts, which were 336,455 more than in 2021 (net of temporary and intermittent contracts).

There were 1,374,342 permanent contracts hired, while 864,661 were transformed into stable contracts.

Between January and December, there were 1,863,593 terminations from stable contracts.

However, economic layoffs are also growing: in 2022 there were 377,423 with an increase of 40.89% on 2021. The comparison is with a year in which layoffs were blocked until June 30 due to the economic emergency linked to the pandemic.

Compared to 2019 when there were 504,264 layoffs, there was a decrease of 25.15%.

In 2022 there were also 1,255,706 resignations with an increase of 9.74% on 2021.

Compared to 2019, before the outbreak of the Covid epidemic (1,012,637 resignations), the increase is 24%.
