Energy-saving shower heads at Stiftung Warentest: Most products rated "Good".
According to the consumer magazine, the hand showers tested cost between ten and 130 euros.
Manufacturers such as Ikea, Hagebau, Hansa, Hansgrohe and Prisma were represented.
The result is surprisingly positive.
14 of the 20 models tested received the grade "Good", while five products received a "Poor".

A conventional shower head uses an average of 15 liters of water per minute.
With four showers a week for around ten minutes, the consumed liters add up to around 31,000, according to

When heating with gas, about 263 euros come together annually, with electricity even 545 euros.
A household with several people and showers can be expensive.
The most economical shower head in the test, on the other hand, only uses 5.5 liters per minute.
With the same consumption, that is 96 euros per year when heating up with gas and 200 euros with electricity, the consumer magazine reported.
The sample calculation showed that switching to a savings model can save a lot of money.

Most of the models tested by Stiftung Warentest had a flow rate of around nine liters per minute.
But three models were significantly higher.
They consumed more than twelve liters and therefore failed with the grade “poor”:

In addition to the losers, there are also three test winners.

However, according to Stiftung Warentest, it could be that “rinsing the shampoo out of long hair” takes a little longer with economy models with very little water flow.
Here, the consumer magazine recommends shower heads with a flow rate of eight to nine liters.
