This city will pay you 225,000 NIS to live in it - but there is a catch - Voila! Tourism

Albinan, which sits on a 1,300-meter-high mountain, is looking for residents due to people fleeing to nearby cities and offers generous financial incentives. Before you run to Switzerland, the admission conditions are not simple

The village that will pay you to live in (Tiktok)

A town in Switzerland offers new residents very considerable sums of money (between 10,000 and more than 50,000 Swiss francs - that is, up to 225 thousand shekels) for moving there.

The stunning mountain town (or village) of Albinen sits at an altitude of 4,265 feet (about 1,300 meters) in the Swiss canton of Valais (yes. That's its name. We didn't make it up), which shares its borders with Italy to the south and France to the west.

Despite the town's stunning surroundings, which include vast expanses of snow-capped mountain peaks in a possible wave direction, it has been facing extinction for several years - as residents are leaving it en masse for the nearby cities.

By the end of 2020, the economic outflow from the town left only 243 residents in the village.

Since 2018, officials in the local municipality have been trying to bring new residents to the place, offering rare economic incentives.

Despite the ideal location - only four kilometers from the tourist spa and bath town of Leukerbad and 35 minutes from the capital of the canton of Sion and the city of Visp - the lack of employment has caused the locals to migrate to other cities.

In the hope of attracting new home buyers, families of four are currently offered an amount equivalent to 100,000 NIS for an adult, with each child receiving 40,000 NIS.

But the attractive offer doesn't come without a catch or two, including the job of having to be under 45 to apply.

Applicants also need to be Swiss citizens with residence permit C - which can only be obtained by living in the country for five years if you are a citizen of EU countries, or from the US or Canada. For residents of

other countries, including the UK or Israel - need to live in the country continuously for 10 years before applying to move to Albina

A stunning Italian town will pay you €28,000 if you come to live in it

Wake up by the sea: The Italian town that offers houses for €1

These are not the only conditions - the house you buy must reach a valuation of NIS 800,000, and you must remain living in Albinan for at least a decade. If you decide to leave before then, you will have to return the amount paid to you.

Describing the village in 2017, Mayor Beat Justin described it as quiet, with stunning views and good air quality.

He added that the area receives huge amounts of sunshine each year.

He added additional conditions for moving to them: "Buying a second home or large residential complexes of investor groups are out of the question. Those who move again ten years after the start of construction or after purchasing the house must return the money."

But perhaps it is actually worth meeting the stricter requirements, since Switzerland has one of the best education systems in the world, a high life expectancy and very low rates of violent crime.
