23 agents of the Biella penitentiary police were suspended from service, in execution of an order from the investigating judge, for the crime of state torture committed inside the prison against three prisoners.
"On 6 February, the investigating judge, at the request of the prosecutors, had ordered the application of the precautionary measure of house arrest against the pro-tempore deputy commander, reserving the right, following the outcome of the interrogations, on the application of the requests for disqualification measures against of the other twenty-seven agents involved" reports the Public Prosecutor's Office.
