(ANSA) - TUNIS, MARCH 23 - The Tunisian Coast Guard has announced that since yesterday it has blocked 30 attempts at irregular migration starting from the coasts of Sfax and Chebba, rescuing 2,034 people aboard boats in difficulty.
The spokesman of the National Guard reported it on Facebook, specifying that the rescue units also found the bodies of 7 people (2 adults, 4 children and an infant) from various sub-Saharan African countries after the shipwreck reported yesterday evening.
Of the migrants stopped, only 9 are of Tunisian nationality, according to the same source: all the others are from various sub-Saharan countries.
