(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 24 - An opposition politician, Elvira Vikhareva, was poisoned by heavy metal salts.
She reported it to the Russian agency Sota specifying that the event took place several months ago. Vikhareva would have carried out laboratory tests after starting to show some symptoms of poisoning.
According to Sota, potassium dichromate, a highly toxic and carcinogenic substance, was found in Vikhareva's blood.
Vikhareva told reporters she began experiencing severe stomach pains, increased heart rate, numbness in the extremities, muscle spasms, fainting and hair loss.
