On March 17, the embargo on reviews of Resident Evil 4 was lifted and it quickly became apparent that Capcom could have hit another hit with one of its remakes.
The Metacritic website has now received 100 reviews from the press, giving the game an average of 93 out of 100 points.

With that score, Resident Evil 4 has become one of the best games of the year so far right off the bat.
On the PS5, it has the highest rating of any game so far in 2023 on Metacritic.
It ranks third overall across all platforms behind Metroid Prime Remastered and the Xbox Series X release of The Witcher 3.

Metacritic is a website founded in 2001 that contains a comprehensive index of released movies, games, TV series and music albums and aggregates reviews/opinions/ratings written about them.
From these ratings, the site finally calculates an average value.
For years, Metacritic has been an important site for consumers to get a benchmark for the quality of new media at a glance, or even to publish their own user reviews.
