In Ukraine, Russian forces could push as far as Kiev and even Lviv

if Moscow deems it necessary.

The new threat comes from former president Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with the Russian media.

"Here - said Medvedev, quoted by the RIA Novosti agency - nothing can be excluded. If you need to go to Kiev, or Lviv, then you need to go to Kiev or Lviv to eliminate this infection".

Meanwhile, Moscow's attacks continue on the ground.

Five people - three women and two men - died in a raid on the town of Kostiantynivka in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region, according to Ukraine's state emergency services.

The Russian missile hit a one-story building that housed a so-called "invincibility center," as humanitarian reception centers for civilians are called.

Kostiantynivka is located about twenty kilometers west of Bakhmut, the epicenter of fighting against Russian forces, rescuers added on Telegram.
