A judo teacher from Oviedo has been arrested by the National Police as the alleged perpetrator of two crimes of sexual assault on three minors between the ages of 15 and 16.
The investigation began after one of the minors reported to the Family and Women's Unit of the National Police that she had been sexually touched by her judo teacher in the gym where the detainee worked.
Subsequently, two other complaints from minor girls and classmates of the previous one were collected, who also reported touching by the same teacher, who was arrested last Monday and made available to the Oviedo Guard Court.
The victims requested a protection and restraining order for the alleged offender.
The investigation remains open, since the investigators do not rule out the existence of more episodes of sexual assaults carried out by the defendant, who has no prior records and who taught extracurricular judo classes in at least three public schools in the Principality of Asturias.
From the Federation of Associations of Mothers and Fathers of Asturias, the president Gemma Valdés showed her surprise at a fact that she was unaware of: “I had no idea.
No one had reported anything to us.
Sometimes there are disagreements or conflicts with the monitors or the organizers, but in this case nothing.
It is something that cannot be accepted and very unpleasant”.
The Higher Headquarters of the National Police in Asturias recalls that since 2015 the Criminal Code states that those convicted of a crime of sexual assault are disqualified from exercising professions related to minors, to avoid direct contact with other minors.
The data of the convicted are recorded in the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders (RCDS), a non-public information system related to the identity, genetic profile, penalties and security measures imposed by judges on those convicted of any crime of a sexual nature. .
In this regard, crimes of a sexual nature are considered those related to sexual freedom and indemnity or trafficking in human beings for the purpose of sexual exploitation, including pornography, regardless of the age of the victim.
Includes convictions made both in Spain and in other countries of the European Union.
