A "modest growth": the Confindustria study center estimates GDP in 2023 to grow by 0.4%, "a marked slowdown compared to the 2022 average" but "more favorable than assumed just a few months ago" when growth was forecast zero.
An improvement that is "exclusively linked to the better dynamics in the second half of 2022. Excluding the drag for this year, flat growth is confirmed".
For 2024 "on the other hand, thanks to the return of inflation, the less restrictive monetary policy and the improvement in the international context, there will be a better trend also in Italy (+1.2%)".
