Carlos Alcaraz as a steamroller in the second round of the Master 1000 in Miami.
The Spaniard, recently returned to No. 1 in the world, canceled out the Argentine Facundo Bagnis (No. 100) with a clear 6-0, 6-2 in 64' of play.
There has never been a real confrontation between the two, suffice it to say that Alcaraz won the first 11 points of the match.
"Starting a new tournament is never easy, the conditions are different. I had to be ready. I was very focused on the game from the start and I'm happy with how I played," commented the star from Murcia, looking for the ' Sunshine Double' (double IndianWells/Miami) after the crushing victory, last Sunday, in the Californian desert against Daniil Medvedev.
Alcaraz, who will have to confirm the title in Miami to keep his number 1, will face the Serbian Dusan Lajovic in the next round.
