A depression structure arriving on our North-Western regions will lead, in the next few hours, to a general worsening of the weather conditions.
We will see a decisive intensification of the ventilation on Italy from the western quadrants, with a tendency to reinforce in the North due to gusts of favonio and in the Center-South close to the Apennine areas, with further reinforcements from the North-West on the major islands and on the South.
On the basis of the available forecasts, the Civil Protection Department, in agreement with the regions involved - which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned - has issued a notice of adverse weather conditions.
The weather phenomena, impacting on the various areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the Department website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
The notice foresees from late evening today, Sunday 26 March, stormy winds from the northern quadrants on Valle D'Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia, on the Alpine areas with encroachments on the flat areas and valleys and from the West -North-West of Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily, with gusts of strong storm especially along the coastal and Apennine sectors.
Possible storm surges along the exposed coasts.
On the basis of the phenomena expected for tomorrow, Monday 27 March, a yellow alert was assessed on large sectors of Campania, Calabria, Molise and on the entire territory of Puglia and Basilicata.
