When he was seen walking down the street while wearing a large and hysterical white puffer coat, the image of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, aka the 266th Pope Francis, jumped to the top of tweets and flooded the feed in the last few hours.

While many praise the fashionably advanced, and surprising, style of the 86-year-old Argentine, the question arises, is this image even real?

We are sorry to disappoint, but this is not a fashion change that the Pope decided to adopt one clear day, but rather the result of a rather successful AI creation, which was created using the Midjourney app, and was first published on the subreddit last Friday, not before it exploded on Twitter and created great memes.

The image shows the head of the church, the Catholic leader known for his modesty in his demeanor and appearance, walking outside wearing the traditional white cap while wrapped in a long puffer - that nylon coat with a puffy silhouette divided into sections by stitching.

The fashionable crackling of the black and white color, the excessive volumes and the silhouette of an accentuated waist, scream style, and what is no less surprising is that the Pope (seemingly) holds the look extremely successfully.

In his hand he seems to be holding a plastic bag of some sort, a large and ornate cross on his coat, while he looks more relaxed than ever.

By entering only textual descriptions, the AI systems are trained to produce for us an output of spectacular images with accuracy and attention to detail, which meet the artistic-fashionable thought and vision that we have protected in our minds.

What does this mean for the fate of fashion houses and designers?

And to what extent will it conquer the world of fashion and be adopted by it, or in fact threaten certain incumbents in the industry?
