If you fancy a little homemade treat, or if you need a small culinary souvenir for a specific occasion, the Milchmaid-Schttelkuchen is just the thing.

Because the cake does not have to be baked and the preparation takes no longer than a quarter of an hour.

You only need five ingredients, most of which you probably already have on hand at home.

  • 600 ml whipping cream

  • 2 packets of whipped cream

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 400 ml milkmaid condensed milk

  • 3 packets of butter biscuits

You'll also need some baking cocoa to dust the milkmaid shaker cake.

Preparation: You don't have to bake the milkmaid shaker cake, just stack it and chill it

  • Shake the whipped cream with the cream stiffener and the sugar in a shaker until the cream is stiff.

    Depending on the quantity, you may need several shakers or several shaking passes.

  • Pour the stiffened cream into a bowl, add the milkmaid condensed milk and stir until well combined.

  • Line a casserole dish with butter biscuits, covering the bottom completely.

  • Put a layer of the cream on top and smooth it out.

  • Another butter biscuit layer follows and then cream again.

    Repeat this until the cream is used up - there should be a layer of cream at the top.

  • Dust the milkmaid shaker cake with some baking cocoa and leave the cake in the fridge for two hours so that the biscuits soften and the cream gets a little firmer.
