(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, MARCH 27 - "After the earthquake, about 60,000 Syrians voluntarily returned to their country".
This was stated by Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, as reported by Anadolu, speaking of Syrians who lived as refugees in the provinces of southeastern Turkey hit by the earthquake of 6 February.
"We will not allow illegal crossings across borders," added the Ankara minister.
About 3 million 700 thousand Syrian citizens are currently living in Turkey as refugees after leaving Syria in pursuit of the outbreak of war, starting in 2011. (ANSA).
