The mega-strike on public transport in Germany began at midnight, which will paralyze air, rail and snow traffic for 24 hours, and in at least seven Laender also urban traffic.
The strike was called on Friday by the Verdi and Evg unions, who are demanding a wage increase.
The stop of flights will affect at least 380,000 passengers, according to the ADV association of airports.
The Verdi union is asking for a 10.5% increase and at least 500 euros more in payroll, while Evg is demanding an increase of at least 650 euros per month.
