(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, MARCH 27 - "We support the economic stability of Tunisia and therefore we support the conclusion of the program proposed by the IMF": thus a spokesman for the National Security Council of the White House responded to a question from ANSA on the US position towards the 1.9 billion dollar loan negotiated between Tunis and the Fund and on Italy's efforts to break the deadlock.
The State Department and the IMF had underlined in recent days that Tunisia has not yet signed the reform package to which the loan is conditional.
