The cook Neta Levia from the Manchkin recipe blog teaches how to make a fragrant pot of juicy and tender pieces of meat with basmati rice studded with sweet potato cubes and pumpkin.

During cooking, the rice absorbs the flavors of the meat and spices and together with the orange vegetables, you get a complete meal in one pot with flavors that everyone likes.



It is recommended to use a pot with a sealed lid that is also suitable for the oven to prepare the recipe.

If there is none, you can continue cooking on the stove at the lowest heat.

If the lid is not sealed enough, aluminum foil is also used.

Ingredients

    • 1 kg of sheitel cheese - cut into small/medium cubes

    • ¼ cup olive oil

    • 1 coarsely sliced ​​onion

    • 5 cloves of garlic

    • 1 teaspoon cumin

    • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

    • 2 liters (must cover the meat completely, if necessary add more)

    • 1 sweet potato - peeled and cut into cubes

    • 1 acorn - peeled and cut into cubes

    • 2 cups basmati rice

    • salt to taste

Preparation

How do you prepare meat cubes with rice and orange vegetables?

  • 1 Heat the oven to 160 degrees.

  • 2 Season the meat cubes well with salt and ground black pepper.

  • 3 Heat the olive oil in a deep and wide pot that can go into the oven and fry the meat cubes until browned.

  • 4 Add the onion, garlic, cumin and cinnamon and fry for another 2-3 minutes.

  • 5 Pour the water until the meat is completely covered and bring to a boil.

  • 6 Cover well (if the lid is not sealed enough, seal first with foil and place the lid on top) and put in the oven for two hours.

  • 7 Take the pot out of the oven, add the sweet potato cubes, the sweet potato, and the rice.

    Cover well and return to the oven for another 30 minutes.

  • 8 Remove from the oven and wait for fifteen minutes before opening the lid and serving.
