"I lost half a day of skiing": the clumsy defense of Gwyneth Paltrow, accused of having hit a man on the slopes

At the helm for a few days, the Oscar-winning actress is accused by a retired optician of having caused a skiing accident seven years ago. Trying somehow to defend herself, she has become the laughingstock of Internet users.

Since March 21, Gwyneth Paltrow has been at the helm.

The actress is being prosecuted for hitting Terry Anderson, a retired optician, on a ski slope.

The collision took place in February 2016 in Deer Valley, an upscale Rocky Mountain resort located above Park City, a tourist town that hosts the Sundance Film Festival.

According to the complainant, the 50-year-old American ran over him while skiing in a "dangerous" manner, causing him "four broken ribs and permanent brain damage" before fleeing, leaving him unconscious.

A version that the main interested party refutes.

But it is justice that will have to determine who, of Gwyneth Paltrow or Terry Anderson, is telling the truth.

Especially since the verdict will not be without consequences, mainly financial.

If he initially declared to have suffered damage estimated at more than three million dollars, Terry Anderson is now claiming $300,000 in damages.

For her part, Gwyneth Paltrow, she counter-attacked;

she asks for a symbolic dollar and reimbursement of her legal costs.

His lawyer, Steven Owens, claims in particular that Sanderson is "obsessed" with the complaint and that the file is based on "false allegations".

Nevertheless, since the opening of the trial, which is held in Utah, the Oscar-winning actress for her role in

Shakespeare in love

has multiplied the blunders.

Anthology.

"Perverse Things"

Gwyneth Paltrow hammers it: it is not she who caused the accident, but rather Terry Anderson.

The ex-wife of Chris Martin (leader of the group Coldplay) also explains that he briefly feared being the victim of a sexual assault.

“I was skiing and two skis appeared between my skis, pushing my legs apart, then a body pressed against me and I heard a very strange growl.”

The star adds that she wondered if it was a "joke" or if "someone was doing evil things".

Gwyneth Paltrow nevertheless admitted to having left the scene immediately after the accident, on the advice of her ski instructor.

Without rescuing the person who has fallen to the ground.

From “sweets” to ushers

Can we still buy justice?

Why not, but aiming for the stomach.

The creator of the fashion and lifestyle site Goop thus tried to offer sweet “sweets” to the bailiffs of the court on Thursday March 23, reports the BBC.

On the third day of the trial, Gwyneth Paltrow's attorney said, "My client's private security team wanted to bring some treats to the bailiffs for their help."

And to add: “I wanted to do it transparently and see if there were any objections”.

By the voice of judge Kent Holmberg, the (negative) response from the plaintiff's lawyers was not long in coming: “OK, there is an objection.

So thank you, but no thank you.

“We lost half a day of skiing”

On Friday March 23, another sequence particularly made the rounds on social networks.

We see Gwyneth Paltrow reveal the greatest damage she suffered following the accident: "Well, we lost half a day of skiing."

A statement immediately mocked on the Web.

“Some people break four ribs, others lose half a day of skiing,” commented one of them.

At the helm, the wobbly defense of the Hollywood star is in any case the happiness of Internet users.
