ROME - "The XIII National Day of Historic Houses will be held on 21 May. A unique event of its kind".
This was announced by the president of ADSI, Giacomo Di Thiene, today during the new ANSA Incontra on the theme "Dispersed tourism with Airbnb and the role of historical heritage", edited by the culture, entertainment and tourism editorial staff and streamed on ANSA .it and on the Agency's social channels.
"Last year - says Di Thiene - we opened over 500 gardens, fortresses, villas and castles throughout the country. An absolute record, for an initiative that aims to bring civil society closer to this heritage and ensure that we also appreciate how many employment chains may be behind it. In many cases - he adds - the owners of the properties themselves will welcome the tourists, to convey their passion and sense of responsibility".
But this is one of the three demonstrations organized by the ADSI.
"Since last year - says the president - we have also inaugurated Carte in residence in collaboration with the General Association of Archives. And then there is Coltiriamo la cultura, created with Confagricoltura, to remind us that these houses have a very strong link with the territory on which Italian food and wine depends. Tourism in the area - he concludes - is fundamental because it fuels quality tourism, which does not mean high spending, but which appreciates certain characteristics".
