The assembly of Pd senators, underway in Palazzo Madama, elected Francesco Boccia as the new group leader by acclamation.

"There could be many candidates for the presidency of the group here in the Senate. There are many valid people capable of carrying out this role adequately. My proposal to the parliamentary group, due to its solidity, political ability and experience, is Francesco Boccia".

"We are working on an overall and balanced set-up, respectful of pluralism and the outcome of the primaries. For this reason we are also speaking often in these hours with Stefano Bonaccini.
