Pension reform: new day of action on Thursday April 6

2023-03-28T17:49:05.031Z

The inter-union continues to want to put pressure on the government and calls for an eleventh mobilization.

Despite a drop in attendance compared to the previous mobilization, Thursday March 23, the inter-union again called for a day of action on April 6.

A predictable response as the conflict over pension reform seems to be at an impasse.

The next expected deadline is that of the Constitutional Council, which must deliver its verdict no later than April 21.

During this period, the centrals warned that they did not intend to release the pressure on the executive.

A position justified by “

the demands of the activists themselves and of the French, who remain mobilized and opposed to the reform

”, we underline at the CFDT.

However, on both sides we are not totally losing hope of finding a way out of the showdown.

The centrals announced that they were going to send a letter to the head of state to offer him a way out.

The latter consists of mediation and a “

suspension

” of the reform.

This option has however already been swept away by the government spokesperson, Olivier Véran.

A refusal that did not discourage the unions.

"

Mediation is not dead

," assured the general secretary of the CFDT, Laurent Berger.

Find a way out

A few hours earlier, opponents of the pension reform had themselves refused the outstretched hand of the government.

Sunday, March 26, the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne had thus explained wanting to "

put some appeasement

" with the unions by saying that she was at their "

disposal

" to meet them on sites other than that of pensions.

At the same time, and without waiting for the bill for full employment which will not finally be examined until the end of May, the majority, under the leadership of deputy Louis Margueritte, is preparing a bill (PPL) with the aim of "

reviving dialogue”

, confirms the Renaissance MP for the 5th constituency of Saône-et-Loire.

This text will contain the translation of the agreement reached between the social partners on the sharing of value.

“We will transcribe it very faithfully

, we confide in the majority.

One way, therefore, to try to smooth out relations that could not be more strained with the unions.

The time

"to consult all the social partners, and to write the text technically and legally"

, the bill could be examined

"quickly, barely a few short weeks",

they say in the majority.
