During the assembly of Pd senators, at Palazzo Madama, Pd secretary Elly Schlein proposed Francesco Boccia as the new group leader.

"There could be many candidates for the presidency of the group here in the Senate. There are many valid people capable of carrying out this role adequately. My proposal to the parliamentary group, due to its solidity, political ability and experience, is Francesco Boccia".
