"I am aware that if I said stop now, I would regret this choice. I am having fun, I am physically well, I don't have a problem and I have great motivation".
Alpine skiing champion Federica Brignone said so in an interview with La Stampa the day after the Italian Championships which closed the 2022-2023 season.
"If I look at the results - he added - I no longer need anything, but I have a boundless passion for this sport. I like to compete, get involved, measure myself against my opponents. This is continuing to struggle, perhaps to climb the rankings
after a negative moment, it gives me emotions that I will perhaps never experience again in life. Fear, adrenaline and other sensations make me feel alive: skiing is incredible and beautiful".
Federica Brignone, born in 1990, closed the season with a fourth place in the general classification and a second place in the Super-G classification, but above all with a gold medal (Combined) and a silver one (Giant) at the Courchevel World Championships.
"This season has been beautiful, I had a good time with the group of girls, I lived to the fullest after the restrictions, even if everything was tough, above all because the side events are back, very tiring, even more so when you're in Italy "I had a super year in all the specialties, despite having missed a few races, but I'm not a robot and sometimes I can't control my emotions. In the last few months I've skied fast" he concluded.
