Joy and gratitude are great.

Munich – The rescue bag from Lidl is becoming increasingly popular.

This is documented by posts on social media.

Again and again we read that customers are surprised at how much fruit and vegetables are in good condition.

One wondered why the groceries from his bag needed to be rescued in the first place.

People affected by poverty get hold of a Lidl rescue bag – and are grateful

With the rescue bag, Lidl wants to give fruit and vegetables a second chance, as the discounter wrote on its website in August at the start of the project.

But the measure against food waste also gives less well-off people the opportunity to get good food at a reasonable price.

Many a Lidl customer has been able to look forward to fresh food for three euros.

Also a man who claims to be poverty-stricken.

"I got a 3 € bag with lots of vegetables from Lidl," he writes on Twitter.

On a picture you can see the yield: a cucumber, two kohlrabi, a pepper, red and light onions and some potatoes.

Maybe an orange too, but it's hard to see what's underneath the cucumber.

Man is happy about Lidl rescue bag, which he actually can't afford

And the Lidl customer is really grateful.

"If I hadn't even been able to afford the (rescuer bag, ed.), there wouldn't be good souls," he continues.

"Thank you to everyone who helps." Apparently he received the food thanks to a donation.

In return, he gives something back.

The user announced that he wanted to make a “vegan spread” from the “great things”.

He will write down the recipe and “put it online here”.

"And also how I make the spread durable," he announces.

A round thing.

With groceries becoming more and more expensive, rescue bags are proving to be more and more important.

A customer "almost cried" after shopping at Lidl.
