The managing director of Lufthansa
, Carsten Spohr, will be in Rome tomorrow for a meeting with the government in the context of the negotiation for the purchase of a minority stake in Ita Airways.
Spohr himself said this today at the A4E Aviation summit in Brussels, adding that the last issue to be resolved "remains Ita's assessment" given that "all the other obstacles on an industrial level seem to have been resolved".
"We have already received bookings for the next few months that are about 180% higher than last year, and are growing 12-15% week over week."
This was stated
by the managing director of Ita Airways, Fabio Lazzerini
, on the sidelines of a conference
on sustainable intermodality.
Performance "mainly driven by the long range, with a load factor of 90-95%, and by the international market, but also by the domestic market holding up well"
Commenting on the company's financial statements, which closed 2022 with a loss of 486 million euros, Lazzerini explained that "operational management was decidedly superior to both the Plan and the budget".
"There have been some losses, but physiological since we are a startup", specified Lazzerini.
"A loss was foreseen in our plan and budget. The loss in 2022 was mainly linked to the price of fuel, the commercial and operational performance partly offset the increase in the price of fuel which was 298 million. In the first quarter this year we will still have savings of 12-15 million on fuel".
