Drastic decision by Fifa which has decided not to let the Under 20 World Cup scheduled for May be played in Indonesia anymore.
The decision was based on the opposition of Indonesia and Iraq, for political reasons, to take the field against Israel, which qualified for the tournament.
The new host country has not yet been indicated.
"Following the meeting between President Gianni Infantino and Indonesian Football Federation President Erick Thohir, FIFA has decided, due to the current circumstances, to remove Indonesia as host of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup."
