American actor Jonathan Majors has been charged after his arrest in New York for the assault, strangulation and harassment of a 30-year-old woman.

, was arrested by New York police on Saturday after an emergency call from the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.
An anonymous young woman claimed to have been assaulted by the actor.
A man
“involved in a marital dispute”
After conducting a preliminary investigation, the police established that a 33-year-old man
“had indeed been involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman”
.
The woman, who told police she was assaulted, was taken to hospital.
Despite injuries to the head and neck, she is now in stable condition, according to information from the BBC relayed by BFMTV.
The same woman claims in her complaint – broadcast by Variety – that the actor slapped her, strangled her, inflicting “
considerable pain”
on her .
The actor's agent, Carrie Gordon, assured in a press release published by the daily
Los Angeles Times
, that the actor had "done nothing wrong".
She said she hopes she can

quickly, while the actor's attorney, Priya Chaudhry, quoted by local media, said they were
"gathering and going to quickly present to the district attorney evidence in the hope to see all charges against him withdrawn

According to local media, the actor has been released and will have to appear before a judge again on May 8.
