(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 29 - 19,514 Ukrainian children have been illegally deported to Russia, according to the latest update published by the Ukrainian Ministry of Reintegration on the 'Children of War' state website.
To this figure must be added the 4,390 orphaned children, with only one parent or without parental care according to the same ministry - as announced yesterday - found in the occupied territories or in Russia.
To date, only 327 children have been repatriated to Ukraine.
Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister for Reintegration of Occupied Territories, Irina Vereshchuk, has urged Russians not to adopt children "kidnapped" during the war and deported to Russia.
"I strongly recommend Russian citizens not to adopt Ukrainian orphans who have been illegally taken from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," Vereshchuk wrote on Telegram
