"

There is no comparison to be made

. There are laws and a precise sentence. The mayors know what they can and cannot do".

Are they disobedient?

"No, it's something they decide knowing that there's a sentence they don't apply. There's no bargaining."

The Minister of the Family

Eugenia Roccella

says it after the letter of some mayors on the children of gay couples.

"The mayors are not protesting against the Piantedosi circular - adds Roccella - but against the sentence of the Cassation. So, if anything, they should have a dialogue with the president of the joint sections. There is a very precise sentence that says certain things".

The mayors

Speaking on the issue of registering the adoptions of the children of same-parent couples,

the mayor of Milan Beppe Sala

urges the birth of "a very broad axis" on this battle, which he sees ideally composed of Verdi, left, Third Pole and M5s.

"Of course - he reflects - in these cases it is quicker to underline the differences than the things in common, but on this it will be necessary to find convergence".

"It is clear that the center-right is strong, but I remind everyone that in the 7 years that I have been mayor I have seen six governments, and I have said it all. Let's not assume that this battle must be lost, on the contrary", he added Room.

Sala recalls having asked Parliament, together with other mayors

, to find a regulatory solution to discuss the issue of equalizing marriages.

"The way of adoptions with this system does not work, adoption is an extremely complex and expensive process in Italy but with a law on same-sex marriages this problem can be avoided", said Sala.

Debate in the Eurochamber In

the meantime, the European Parliament has added a debate on the rights of children of same-parent families to the agenda for today, with particular attention to the case of Italy.

The debate called for by the Socialists, the Greens and the Renew Europe group.
