(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 29 - The most visited museum in the world continues to be the Louvre in Paris, with just under 8 million admissions in 2022 (7,726,321), recovering from the less than 3 million (2,825,000) of 2021 but down from the 9.6 million in 2019 pre-pandemic.
This is what emerges from the traditional exclusive classification of "Il Giornale dell'Arte" which awards the silver medal to the Vatican Museums, rising from tenth place in the world to second.
The British Museum in London is also on the rise, passing from 13th place to third overall.
The Uffizi Galleries are off the podium, but they go up one position, from fifth to fourth place.
