The deputy minister explains that it is an aid to those who have found themselves unable to pay taxes (ANSA)

In the tax package of the bills decree "we have dropped the current discipline" of the non-punishability for those who comply with the omitted payments "within the first hearing of the hearing" in what "has been done in the budget law", i.e. the possibility of pay off in 5 years.

"Where are the amnesties? Anyone who talks about amnesties doesn't know what they are talking about, or they study tax law or they talk nonsense".

Thus the Deputy Minister

Maurizio Leo

interviewed in Transatlantico in the Chamber, explaining that it is not a question of a "favor to tax evaders" but of "aid" to those who "have found themselves unable to pay taxes by necessity".

"Article 13, paragraph 1 of decree 74 of 2000 states that in the event of omitted payments, if payment is made within the term of the first trial hearing, there is no punishment, there is no crime, this is the standard in force. In budget law we said that omitted payments can be regularized in 5 years. So what have we done differently compared to the current discipline? We have lowered it into what has been done in the budget law", explains Leo.

In the decree approved by the Council of Ministers, which "is being stamped" in these hours, "it therefore says that if you have regularized respecting the deadlines there is no punishment. I am surprised that they say we want to help tax evaders: it is not true standard already exists we have lowered it into

It is right" that those who are unable to pay "pay all the administrative penalties.

but do they have to go to jail as well?”.
