Summit meeting of the British royal couple with the German presidential couple.
Failing to have visited France, Charles III and his wife Camilla flew to Germany on Wednesday March 29 to immortalize their first state visit as king and queen consort of the United Kingdom.
On the first evening of their official trip, they were received by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and his wife, magistrate Elke Büdenbender, who gave a state banquet in their honor at the Palace Bellevue, in Berlin.
During this highly diplomatic event, the royal couple was able to count on the presence of leading German personalities.
Among which, the former Chancellor Angela Merkel, seated during dinner alongside Charles III.

Tradition obliges, Charles III and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles had for the occasion put on their most beautiful uniforms, namely ball outfits.
The queen consort had opted for a long black dress, embroidered with silver beads.
A creation, signed by the British fashion designer Bruce Oldfield, that Camilla had accessorized with the Greville tiara and a diamond fringed necklace from Queen Elizabeth II.

Postponement of the royal visit to France
Charles III and Camilla are currently making their first foreign state visit to Germany since their accession to the English throne.
They were originally supposed to go through France earlier in the week, but the climate of social tensions forced them to postpone their stay in France.
To the chagrin of Emmanuel Macron.
“Given the announcement yesterday of a new national day of action against pension reform on Tuesday March 28 in France, the visit of King Charles III, initially scheduled for March 26 to 29 in our country, will be postponed”, confirmed the Elysée in a press release, Friday March 24.
During a conference on the sidelines of the European summit in Brussels, Emmanuel Macron then justified the postponement of the visit of King Charles.
For him, "a state visit in the midst of protests" was simply unthinkable.
“What would have been hateful would have been if we tried to keep [this visit] as if nothing had happened with incidents at the key.”
For now, no one knows when the state visit will be rescheduled.
