Pope Francis has been hospitalized since yesterday afternoon at the Gemelli Polyclinic
in Rome.
The lung infection from which the Pontiff suffers is "mild", a "bronchitis" that has not produced any effusions, as could be verified with a CAT scan of the heart and lungs.
According to hospital sources, the infection was caused by a virus.
However,
it is not yet known how many days of hospitalization the Pope will have to do at Gemelli.
Sources from the Holy See confirmed in the morning that the Pope "had a good night".
Pope Francis, first quiet night at Gemelli after hospitalization
Meanwhile, since yesterday evening numerous television crews and information operators have taken possession of the outdoor stations, in an area near the entrance to the polyclinic, to account for Francesco's hospitalization.
Several onlookers also flocked this morning to peek at the windows with the lowered white shutters also visible outside the large hospital.
Some patients on leaving the hospital comment on the Pope's presence and above all assure their personal prayers for the Pope's speedy recovery.
