Thierry Thuillier is rather of a discreet nature, who does not meddle in the affairs of his competitors.
But, for the first time, TF1's news director openly attacked the work done by Cyril Hanouna, the star host of C8 (Canal+ group) at the head of "Touche pas à mon poste
Invited to a conference on Wednesday at the International Journalism Conference in Tours on the crisis of confidence in the media, Thierry Thuillier felt that "
Hanouna does a lot of harm to the news"
by blurring the boundaries between news and entertainment.
"Among the trouble factors in the relationship to the info, there is the emergence of talk shows
(debate shows, editor's note),
and in particular of talks which claim to be information"
, specified the boss of the information from TF1, whose group has been targeted for many years by the host and producer of C8.
Thierry Thuillier noted that he
"did not speak"
other talk shows broadcast at the start of the evening such as "Quotidien", hosted by Yann Barthès on TMC (TF1 group),
"which provides quality infotainment"
, or "C à vous", embodied by Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine and her band of columnists on France 5.

And the director of information for the front page clarified his thoughts:
“When you have politicians from this country who go on a set to be bullied, (…) I think that serves information”;
by calling to make
"the distinction between our professions, our practices"
of journalists, and other things
"which relate to entertainment"
This first spade from Thierry Thuillier to the attention of Cyril Hanouna says a lot about the deleterious climate that has settled between the host of C8 and the leaders of TF1.
who unites with "TPMP" some 2 million viewers every evening on C8, does not miss an opportunity to say all the bad things he thinks of the first private channel and its hosts, like Arthur with whom he is long-standing conflict.
The host of "Friday, everything is permitted" notably sued Cyril Hanouna and his production company H2O to whom, according to L'Informé, he is claiming 9 million euros for "denigration
Insults and fines
The quarrels between Hanouna and TF1 are not new.
The latest conflict concerns “Le Late with Alain Chabat”, on TF1, which the host of C8 had described as
“an industrial accident”
"TPMP" had also disseminated false information on the financial elements of production and distribution, according to TF1;
“among these, the fact that the guests would be paid up to 100,000 euros per show”
TF1 had formally denied this
information and seized Arcom again.
Since then, she has decided to attack "TPMP" in court.
Cyril Hanouna has been at the center of many controversies in recent months.
In February, C8 was sentenced to a record fine of 3.5 million euros by Arcom because of the insults launched live in November at the deputy of LFI Louis Boyard.
The highest fine ever imposed by a television channel.
