MILAN - From Arturo Marini to Letizia Battaglia, passing through some of the most representative painters of the 20th century - such as Boetti and Accardi - up to Mario Lattes and Francesco Tricarico: these are the exhibitions that can be visited during the first weekend of April.

MILAN - Over 100 works recount the rich artistic production of Giovanni Frangi in the one-man show "Showboat. Andata e torna", at the Castello Sforzesco from 29 March to 25 June.

Curated by Giovanni Agosti, the exhibition combines graphic works with a corpus of volumes documenting the artist's exhibition activity from the 1980s to today.

Francesco Tricarico, visual artist and musician, is the protagonist in the spaces of Fabbrica Eos Arte Contemporanea with the solo exhibition "Don't stop the paint", scheduled from 30 March to 29 April.

The itinerary brings together around fifteen acrylic works on canvas, created in the period 2021-2023, all characterized by continuous overlapping of layers of signs and colour.

There are also a couple of canvases painted live in the month of March.

TREVISO - "Arturo Marini. The masterpieces" is the retrospective curated by Fabrizio Malachin and Nico Stringa scheduled at the Bailo Museum from 31 March to 30 July: a major exhibition that retraces in 5 sections and through the most representative works all phases of career of the sculptor, from the years of apprenticeship to those of maturity.

TRANI - A succession of 30 black and white shots that have marked the visual memory of the history of our country: this is the exhibition "Letizia Battaglia. Testimony and narration", from 31 March to 31 May at the Palazzo delle Arti. The works , from the 'Letizia Battaglia' Archive in Palermo, tell the themes that have always been central to the photographer's work, from the fresco of the poorest Sicily to the denunciation of mafia activity, poverty, environmental degradation, a consequence of moral and civil drift.

MARSALA - At the Convento del Carmine from 2 April to 4 June the homage to Momò Calascibetta in the exhibition "The irony of disenchantment", curated by Enrico Caruso.

Over 70 works which, from 1983 - when the artist began the adventure in Milan - until the summer of 2021, the year of the last exhibition at the Museo Riso in Palermo, punctuate the narrative arc of an entire existence devoted to art and painting, always between irony and visionary fantasy.

ROME - "Making one. From Word to Sign a possible dialogue" is the group show scheduled at the Erica Ravenna gallery from 29 March to 15 July: a selection of works by artists who spanned the second half of the twentieth century with a common feeling, from Carla Accardi to Tomaso Binga, from Mirella Bentivoglio and Simona Weller to Vincenzo Agnetti, from Alighiero Boetti to Jannis Kounellis and Gino Marotta.

BOLOGNA - Girl with Balloon, Rat and Champagne, Christ with Shopping Bag, Queen's Guard Pissing and The Umbrella Girl are just some of the 90 works created by international and local street artists who have reproduced Banksy's works, exhibited as part of the exhibition "The world of Banksy", at Palazzo Pallavicini from 31 March to 6 August.

The aim of the project is to enhance street art starting from the interpretation of the works of one of the protagonists of the contemporary scene, whose identity still remains mysterious.

VERBANIA - "Siro Penagini 1885-1952. The poet of nature", curated by Elena Pontiggia, is scheduled at the Landscape Museum from 2 April to 25 June.

With over 70 works, the exhibition reconstructs his entire career, highlighting the ability of the painter, active in the first half of the last century, to portray nature with particular sensitivity.

TURIN - At the Reggia di Venaria Reale "Mario Lattes. Theaters of memory", curated by Vincenzo Gatti: staged from 29 March to 7 May, the exhibition brings together a selection of more than 50 works by the Turin intellectual, including several that have never been exhibited first, presented within a path documenting his most recent investigative work.
