(ANSA) - NEW YORK, MARCH 29 - The governor's veto fails to block the anti-transgender law in Kentucky.
The Republicans in the House and in the State Senate in fact overcome, thanks to their super majority, the rejection of Andy Beshear and give the green light to one of America's strictest laws for transgenders.
The law prohibits surgeries and hormone therapy for those under 18, and prevents school districts from asking students for the pronoun by which they identify themselves if it "does not conform to the biological sex listed on the birth certificate."
Doctors are then obliged to immediately suspend treatment for minors who want to make the transition to the opposite sex.
