(ANSA) - ROME, 04 APR - As of 2 April 2023, cinemas recorded total takings of around 111.8 million euros for a number of admissions equal to 15.8 million tickets sold since the beginning of the year.
This is a result, in terms of attendance, 50.5% higher than the same period in 2022.
This is what emerges from the Cinetel data relating to the first quarter of the year.
Here are the top 10 collections from January 1st to Sunday April 2nd: 1) Avatar - La via dell'acqua (17 million euro);
2) Creed III (6.7 million);
3) Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (5.9 million);
4) Me against You the film - Jungle mission (4.8 million);
5) Three too many (4.7 million);
6) The Eight Mountains (3.8 million);
7) John Wick 4 (3.7 million - in the second week of programming);
8) The Whale (3.2 million);
9) Through Friendship (3.0 million);
10) The last night of Love (2.9 million).
As regards Italian productions, including co-productions, Cinetel recorded receipts of over 35.4 million euros, for a number of admissions equal to around 5.3 million tickets sold and a share of total admissions of around 34%.
In general - concludes the company jointly owned by Anica and Anec, which takes care of the collection of receipts and admissions in cinemas on a daily basis - the market confirms the growth trend of the previous periods, giving us hope for the coming months, which see major Italian and international titles coming out.
