The defeat in the Miami final against Daniil Medvedev is made less bitter for Jannik Sinner by the publication of the new ATP ranking, where he returned to the top 10, in ninth position, equaling his best finish ever.
The blue is then fourth in the ranking which only considers the placements of 2023, from which the qualifiers for the ATP Finals in Turin will come out.
In front of the South Tyrolean, on the eve of the long season on red clay in Europe, today there are only Medvedev, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.
The Serbian returned to number 1 thanks to the Spaniard's defeat with Sinner in the semifinal of the Masters 1000 in Florida, reaching a record 380 weeks at the top.
Behind him and in Alcaraz Stefanos Tsitsipas maintains third place, followed by Medvedevm who took advantage of the victory in Miami to overtake the Norwegian Casper Ruud.
Between sixth and eighth position there are Andrey Rublev, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Holger Rune, while Taylor Fritz closes the top 10 behind Sinner.
As for the other Azzurri, Lorenzo Musetti occupies the 21st position, Matteo Berrettini the 22nd while Lorenzo Sonego is back among the top 50 in the world, at position number 47. In the top 100 there are also Marco Cecchinato at number 96 and at n.97 Fabio Fognini.
