The cold air of Finnish extraction has arrived in our country and is causing a significant drop in temperatures, especially in the centre-south and in the mountains.
According to the forecasts of Lorenzo Tredici, meteorologist of the site www.iLMeteo.it, the low temperatures of these days have rarely been reached even in winter.
"In the past winter - he adds - never in December and March was the maximum so low. Between January and February only for 8 days did the thermometer drop to a single digit. In other words, on April 5 it was exceptionally cold. And ' true - he continues - 10 degrees is not frost, but we must consider that normally in this period of the year there are maximum temperatures of up to 20-25 ° in central Italy" - concludes Tredici.
As an example he cites the city of Rome, where today's maximum will struggle to exceed 10 degrees.
A cold Holy Easter especially during the night, in fact from Saturday the maximum temperatures will tend to rise a bit.

In the next few hours the weather will worsen again in the central-south due to the sinking of a new unstable nucleus from Northern Europe associated with arctic air: snowfalls are forecast up to hilly altitudes on the Central Apennines, locally up to 500-600 meters, and abundant accumulations between Basilicata and Calabria up to 900 meters.

The weather will improve everywhere, especially in the north, with serene and starry skies at night, late frosts will be more intense in the plains: values below zero are not excluded in the Po Valley and also in the internal valleys of the central regions, in particular between Tuscany and Umbria.
In the south, more unstable temperatures only on the lower Tyrrhenian Sea, sunshine is expected elsewhere.
