Unemployment in certain areas of the country is still resisting the good dynamics of recent months, reveals an INSEE study published on Thursday.
However, the unemployment rate in France is at its lowest level since 2008, at 7.2% in the last quarter of 2022, or 0.1 point less than in the previous quarter.
Contrary to what the economic situation let predict, in a context of inflation and international uncertainty caused by the war in Ukraine, the unemployment rate is almost stable.
Above all, it is one point lower than its level before the Covid-19 crisis.
Signals in good shape, which could give credit to the campaign promise made in 2022 by Emmanuel Macron to achieve full employment (unemployment below 5%) by the end of his second term.
