Warm winter, cold Holy Week with frosts and -4°C even in the plains.
Climate change favors anomalous situations with early flowering in January and
late polar cold waves, 20 days after the onset of spring.
Antonio Sanò, founder of the website www.iLMeteo.it, recalls in fact how the weather in recent seasons has very often been turned upside down: last winter we recorded anomalously hot weather over a large part of the boot, with about 1.4°C more than middle school in the North.
There has been no significant rainfall for a couple of years, especially between Piedmont and Lombardy, and a rainfall deficit of between 30 and 50% has also been recorded in the last 4 months.
Even the amount of snow has halved in the mountains with the levels of the lakes in the North at their lowest: an extreme summer season is expected with widespread water rationing if it doesn't rain in the next 2-3 months.
Holy Week was cold, but it rained, even abundantly;
but as always, in recent months, it has rained significantly only in the South and part of the Centre.
Now a perturbation is also entering the North-West, but it will only remain there for 12 hours.
In fact, let's see the forecasts in detail: scattered rains are expected in Liguria, the Po valley areas, the Alps and the Pre-Alps, with snow levels around 1000 meters;
we will have the last flakes of the season then, probably, from next week the spring heat will spread all over Italy.
This perturbation from the North will then reach the Center today, between the afternoon and the evening.
Tomorrow the bad weather will stop between Lower Tuscany and Lazio and then quickly from the morning it will
move towards the south: the South, after a very short respite, will see rain again and even snow up to 1300 meters: a Christmas Easter from Naples down.
In fact, Easter Sunday will be unstable in the south and locally also on the Adriatic coast, always with temperatures below the average for the period: we will have a better situation elsewhere with full sun in the morning, temperatures rising, but be careful!
In the afternoon there will be some quick but frequent downpours, especially in the North-East and in Tuscany.
Easter Monday is confirmed to be improving, but still a bit capricious, with beautiful sunshine in the morning, but suddenly disturbed by patchy thunderstorms in the afternoon almost everywhere.
The phenomena will be more probable in the centre-south and close to the Apennine ridge.
Certainly good news will arrive from Monday: temperatures will return to being spring-like, from Tuesday even the African anticyclone will arrive.
