WhatsApp prepares the launch of the newsletter feature.
This is the possibility of subscribing to a list in which to receive news and updates from the user who created it, ideally also a company or a public administration.
The Wabetainfo site, which does away with all the preview versions it releases to tester users, has discovered that the newsletter function has a new name: Channels.
Along with that information, the portal has also released some screenshots showing where the channels will appear and the associated sign-up procedures.
The newsletters will be placed between traditional chats and calls, therefore integrated in the current tab called 'Status'.
In the new menu, there will be space for your contacts' and yourself' status updates, and at the bottom, the
Identify the channels you subscribed to.
The 'Find channels' button will allow you to search for newsletters based on topic or creator.
A WhatsApp channel will ensure the security and privacy of subscribers, who will not be able to see the name, telephone number and other information of those who decide to join the newsletter.
